Cervantes became an Astrotourism Town in August 2018. The first visit on 21 August 2018, included meeting staff at the Shire of Dandaragan. Cervantes is a coastal town and it’s great to be able to add a couple of great locations for you to visit for observing and astrophotography.

Traditionally, Cervantes is a fishing town and has low levels of artificial light. It’s a great coastal destination for stargazing and astrophotography. There are two useful places for tourism information: The Pinnacles Visitor Centre in Cervantes and the Turquoise Coast Visitor Centre which is located in the town of Jurien Bay 28kms north of Cervantes.
