The Shire of Kondinin is brimming with vibrant tourism attractions for visitors. Across three welcoming communities you’ll find something for everyone.
Of course, Wave Rock is the number one destination in Hyden and you don’t want to miss this icon of the WA landscape. Did you know there are also some interesting museums, so if you’re into toy soldiers and lace you’re in for a surprise in Hyden!
Some delightful mallee fowl sculptures greet you as you turn into the town of Karlgarin. This place is a hidden gem with a stunning mural on the walls of the Country Club. Soon you’ll be able to stop over at an RV friendly parking area near Stafford Park in the middle of town.
There’s also the town of Kondinin itself, the largest of the three communities. You’ll find art trails, wildflower walks, lake systems and more. Kondinin town site is the gateway to all the Shire has to offer, so call into pick up your visitor information from the Shire of Kondinin office. All this within a 3-4 hour drive from Perth. Plan for few nights stay.
Stargazing opportunities are a plenty. There are some high points to watch spectacular Wheatbelt sunsets and full moon rises! On dark nights the stars come out to play and you’ll find special landscapes where you can gear up with your camera or telescope. Or simply lie back and transport yourself into the Milky Way.
