Join us for two night’s worth of astronomy events at Wickepin’s Astro Weekend! On the first night, April the 1st, learn the secrets of nightscape astrophotography on the banks of Lake Yealering in a practical workshop hosted by accomplished local photographer Mike Whait. Learn astrophotographys greatest tips and tricks in order to start photographing the night sky in all its wonder.
Then, on Saturday the 2nd of April, marvel at the wonders of the universe through several different and powerful telescopes at the Wickepin Community Centre. Learn about the wonders of the Universe and the objects within it before being toured across the constellations via laser pointer. ICRAR (the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research) will be bringing telescopes to show off the night sky and some of our keen researchers to answer your questions about space.
