It’s always spectacular when you can see so many bright objects on a lovely spring evening. In order of magnitude (or brightness), you’ll see the Moon, Venus, Jupiter and Saturn.

When to look: 8pm, Friday 29th November 2019

Which direction to look: West

Jupiter is the closest planet to the western horizon. Above it appears Venus, followed by the crescent Moon and finally Saturn.

The line up will look impressive and it’s a great time to pack a picnic and enjoy some stargazing with family and friends.

Keep Watching

The next night, the Moon will appear above all three bright planets and in only 12 days on 10 December, Jupiter will disappear below the horizon and Venus will appear next to Saturn.
